Philosophy of Discipline

Our philosophy of discipline is based on the concept and theme of Arrowhead Christian Academy, "Focused on the Heart." While there may be consequences for sin that are outwardly very evident, it is vital that all authorities in the life of a child work together to reach the heart.

We desire to develop and train servants of Christ who have a proper sense of stewardship in all areas of life. A child must be trained to recognize the responsibilities that exist in such areas as: obedience, service, honesty, diligence, respect, etc.

ACA expects its students to live above reproach in all aspects of their daily lives and we expect students to exhibit respect for God, country, family, teachers, and fellow students. Lying, cheating, stealing, fighting, and profanity will not be accepted.

Teachers in the classroom will follow a discipline system process in order to establish proper communication with parents and to identify patterns of behavior that need to be addressed.

While Arrowhead Christian Academy does not administer corporal punishment, occasionally ACA will recommend or require that you administer corporal punishment. Your cooperation is necessary and appreciated.

Decisions regarding corporal punishment, probation, suspension, or dismissal are at the sole discretion of the administration as it relates to ACA, and of the parents as it relates to the home.

Attendance at ACA is a privilege. Constructive suggestions are welcomed, but gossiping and criticism will not be tolerated. Anyone who will not cooperate spiritually, morally, or scholastically will be dismissed.

Occasionally, there will be various books or programs of study in which the families of ACA will be required to participate. Any classes will be administered by Northwest Valley Baptist Church. Your cooperation and fulfillment of requirements is appreciated. The purpose of this participation is to ensure a consistent approach to discipline and discipleship of children by various authorities in their lives.
