Students are required to take the ACT test before graduation requirements are considered complete. It is suggested that they take it during their junior year so they may take it again as a senior if they want to improve their scores.

Honor Roll

Students in 1st - 12th grade earn honor roll status by having a grade point average of 3.0 or better each grading quarter.

Students in 10th - 12th grade may be eligible for the American Christian Honor Society award at the end of the school year. Students who qualify for this honor must have at least a 90% average for the school year. Students who qualify are also rated on character traits such as honesty, patience, cooperative spirit, and punctuality.

An incomplete on a report card not made up by the time the honor roll list is determined will automatically disqualify a student from the honor roll for that grading period.

Disciplinary issues may disqualify a student from the honor roll.

Achievement Testing Program

ACA has a detailed program of testing designed to measure the student's abilities and progress. The results of these tests are used to aid the teachers and administration in improving curriculum and identifying students with specific areas of need. Please ask the administrator for information on interpreting the test results if desired.

All students are given achievement tests in the spring of each year to measure their achievement in areas of English, math, science, and social studies. ACA uses the Stanford Achievement series.

In addition to the achievement test, students in selected grades are given an I.Q. test. ACA uses the Otis-Lennon School Ability test for this measurement since it gives both an I.Q. score and a grade percentile score. This test may also be used in the testing of new students upon enrollment at ACA if it is deemed necessary by the administration.
